Patient Care Technician
The Patient Care Technician prepares you to work in a hospital environment under the direct supervision of a registered nurse. Students are trained to perform clinical skills such as blood collection, EKGs, catheterization, recording vital signs and patient treatments, and other tasks related to patient care. Patient Care Technician graduates can expect to find employment opportunities in hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and placement agencies.
To obtain the Patient Care Technician certificate, the student must complete these 4 modules: Basic Patient Care Skills (or current CNA), EKG, Phlebotomy, and Advanced Nursing Skills. This program will take 2-3 quarters to complete.
